Oliver James is partnering with a leading international re-insurer to appoint an experienced ALM Modelling Manager. This position sits within a specialist actuarial systems function, working alongside pricing, corporate actuarial, investment, and infrastructure teams to design, enhance, and maintain sophisticated ALM models that support risk management, capital planning, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:* Lead the ongoing development, maintenance, and optimisation of ALM modelling tools and associated processes.* Manage the full model lifecycle, including reviewing requirements, creating technical specifications, implementing updates, testing, and releasing changes.* Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across actuarial and non-actuarial areas.* Produce and update technical documentation, process notes, and user guides to ensure knowledge is shared effectively.* Identify and deliver improvements to model performance, process automation, and workflow efficiency.* Contribute to wider change initiatives and strategic projects within the actuarial systems team.

Experience Required:* Qualified actuary with at least five years' experience in life insurance or life reinsurance.* Strong technical background in ALM and asset modelling, ideally with familiarity in FIS Prophet (including ALS and US360 libraries) and Enterprise Manager.* Solid understanding of asset classes, liability structures, portfolio optimisation, hedging strategies, and market risk drivers.* Programming or scripting skills such as Python, SQL, R, or VBA are an advantage.* Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and strong communication skills.* Proven ability to prioritise multiple projects and deliver to agreed timescales.* Track record of challenging and improving existing processes.* Experience working with Agile methodologies is desirable.
