We are currently representing one of the country’s leading contractors to recruit a Head of Estimating for Commercial Fit out projects. This role has incredible growth prospects and represents a generational career opportunity for somebody looking to achieve rapid progression. This ambitious client is seeking a department turnover of £250m within 5 years and the successful candidate will be an integral part of these ambitious plans.

Working with an extremely experienced and knowledgeable Commercial Team the successful candidate will have an opportunity to lead the estimating division and be responsible for hiring, managing and moulding the growth of the department. Previous Management experience is not essential and candidates seeking career progression into this area will be considered.

 

The Role:

 

As the Head of Estimating, you will be responsible for leading high-value commercial fit-out tenders (circa £30m+), initially handling approximately two tenders per month (24 per year). Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you’ll be pivotal in winning work, maintaining the division's supply chain, and helping set the tone and culture for the estimating function as it scales.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the preparation of competitive and compelling tenders using Conquest software.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with an established and high-quality London-based supply chain.
  • Working closely with design, project management, and commercial teams to build winning strategies.
  • Playing a key role in developing the team as the division scales, with clear scope for leadership progression.
  • Supporting strategic planning and reporting, contributing to business growth objectives.
