Working for the UK’s largest independent specialist roofing merchant. For over 40 years we have been supplying quality and competitively priced roofing products and specialist knowledge to our wide and diverse customer base. We run a fleet of modern lorries and trucks to cater for all site environments and pride ourselves in carrying some of the highest stock profiles in the market.

We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Branch Manager who will work closely with the Branch Manager to service this busy depot, ideally positioned for both collection and delivery business into central London. The role will include an opportunity for the successful candidate to start a career path within our expanding company.

The Role

As Assistant Branch Manager, you will be expected to maintain current and develop new customer relationships. This will involve face-to-face and telephone interaction to maximise sales opportunities. Working at the trade counter, you will be expected to fully support the Branch Manager and cover for him/her in times of their absence. At the same time, you will be given specific responsibility for man management and in particular play a pivotal role in enforcing our strict adherence to all aspects of Health & Safety at work. Where necessary, we are happy to provide full training to the successful applicant.

Key Requirements

This role will ideally suit a candidate who has knowledge of the trade/construction/roofing industry with a good working knowledge of key products. Previous sales counter experience would be beneficial, as would exposure to all aspects of branch working and an understanding of customer relationship management and stock control.

You will need to demonstratestrong communication and organisational skills and have a polite and confident telephone manner.

An understanding of IT and computer systems is required along with the ability to work accurately under pressure.

The candidate will need to display a high level of self-motivation and be open to the ever-changing nature of the construction industry.

The Package

We offer a highly competitive salary with regular pay reviews and a target-related bonus scheme. The position comes with 24 days of holiday + all bank holidays, including the Christmas shutdown.

Upon successful completion of a probationary period, you will be enrolled into a company pension scheme.
