Job Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and supporting the Management Team in achieving business objectives. This position requires strong leadership skills and a passion for food production within a restaurant or hotel environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing operations to provide a great guest and team member experience; leading, coaching, and developing team members; and adhering to any budgetary guidelines.
  • You should be knowledgeable about restaurant operations and have a solid grasp of what makes for excellent customer service to thrive in this position. You must also be available to work within stated operating hours, including weekends and public holidays. Furthermore, you will also contribute to lowering operational costs, boost our employee retention and deliver a positive dining experience for our guests.
  • Duties will include scheduling shifts and you should also address customers complaints and queries in a swift, courteous manner. In the absence of Restaurant Manager, the Floor Manager is responsible for the operations of the given outlet; planning, leading the team, developing the business and ensuring a continuous delivery of high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage dining operations with an eye for quality and detail.
  • Excellent conflict resolution abilities.
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Strong leadership skills with an affinity for capacity development to manage, train and develop the team.
  • Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to payroll setting correct work schedules.
  • Drive sales to maximise budgeted revenue.
  • Incentivise team members to maximize sales and revenue.
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated.
  • To attend and contribute to all daily/weekly team meetings.
  • Fill in for the General Manager in their absence by leading the service.

YOU:

  • Have intermediate accounting and arithmetic skills.

A successful candidate should also have a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law regarding the following company regulations:

  • First Aid Procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or culinary industry, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen operations is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
