Goodman Masson are currently working with a London social housing organisation to recruit for an interim Disrepair Surveyor.

Pay - £300 per hour INSIDE IR35

About the Role:As a Disrepair Surveyor, you'll provide expert technical services to ensure structural repairs, statutory nuisance issues, and insurance claims are handled swiftly and professionally. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by managing disrepair cases, conducting inspections, and working with tenants, legal teams, and contractors to resolve complex issues. You will also contribute to the wider departmental teams by offering surveying support and overseeing void property functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of properties to identify and resolve disrepair issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports, estimates, and technical specifications for repairs.
  • Liaise with tenants, legal representatives, and contractors to manage caseloads and ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
  • Oversee and monitor structural and insurance-related repairs, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support and advice on a range of housing and health issues.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of work progress and ensure adherence to customer care policies.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and statutory disrepair issues.
  • Experience with complex building defects, contract management, and surveying.
  • Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, health and safety, and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Experience working collaboratively with colleagues, external partners, and legal teams.
  • Relevant qualifications such as HNC, degree, or membership in a recognized professional body.
