Principle Surveyor

Hourly rate: 55- 60ph umbrella

Location: London EC2P

Job Type: Contract initially until March 2026

We are seeking a Principal Surveyor in the City of London on an interim basis. This role is pivotal in focusing on property and asset management, responsible for high-value and complex casework across allocated portfolios. The successful candidate will be part of the Corporate Property Group, providing professional advice and expertise in respect of the corporate property portfolio.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Implement and manage Asset Management Plans for the operational property portfolio.
  • Provide corporate advice on the management of operational assets to optimise use and maximise income-generating opportunities.
  • Conduct lease renewal negotiations and manage rent reviews, service charges, and property disposals in accordance with relevant laws and codes.
  • Undertake property management activities including the preparation and service of notices, collating evidence, and negotiating terms.
  • Manage and liaise with external consultants, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and corporate policies.
  • Develop and manage project proposals, undertake feasibility studies, and manage risks and procurement strategies.
  • Maintain regular liaison with facilities management for the day-to-day property management, including maintenance and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Professional status (e.g., Chartered Commercial Property Surveyor, Chartered Valuation Surveyor, or General Practice Surveyor) and a Member of the RICS and a RICS Registered Valuer, or equivalent knowledge and expertise through significant relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with property data management systems and investment valuation/development appraisal software.
  • Significant experience in property & asset management, with detailed knowledge of Asset Management Planning and Commercial Lease Management.
  • Proven ability to manage outsourced consultants and work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to Committees/Boards.
