Senior Surveyor

Location: Ealing

Salary: £53,607 - £55,620 per annum inclusive (Grade 13)

The Role

This is an opportunity to join a busy service that adapts properties for disabled, vulnerable and elderly residents, and carries out other domestic, commercial and surveying related projects across the Borough. Duties will include all surveying aspects associated with running of the Surveying Services, Repairs and Adaptations Service, and Home Improvement Agency.

They are looking for an experienced person with excellent communication skills, who is highly motivated and committed to delivering an efficient, customer focused high quality service.

This position will work alongside a small team of surveyors. Duties will include site visits, preparing schemes using computer aided design software (essential), dealing with technical queries (on and off site) liaising with contractors and suppliers, obtaining permissions, issuing party wall awards, specification writing and supervising agreements and contracts.

The type of work will vary from small adaptations to large new build/renovation/conversion schemes across all tenure. Previous experience of dealing with a varied workload is essential as well as procurement/tendering procedures.

The post holder should be aware of Disabled Facilities Grant Legislation (including The Regulatory Reform Order 2002), Building Safety Act, Construction Design Management, Building Regulations and related Planning legislation and be able to demonstrate soft skills such as giving presentations and data administration.

Applicants will have a computer aided design assessment and be asked to give a presentation on a related surveying subject.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Essential: A related degree that leads to Corporate Membership of one or more of the following: - CIOB, RICS, ABE, CABE, RIBA or equivalent, and a desired accreditation from the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors.
  • Demonstrate competency as a Principal Designer in accordance with PAS8670 and PAS8670.
  • A full valid driving licence with access to daily use of a private motor vehicle.
  • Experience in related adaptation and surveying office including party wall matters
