路Review and assess development layouts for accessibility, efficiency, and safety.
路Provide technical input into drawings and swept path analysis.
路Check and review technical work and CAD outputs from junior staff.
路Contribute to the preparation of Transport Assessments, Statements, and supporting documents.
路(Ideally) Use Junctions 10 (ARCADY & PICADY), LinSig, TRICS, TEMPro, and other modelling tools to support design and analysis.
路Assist in the production and configuration of traffic flow diagrams.
路Liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders; attend meetings and workshops.
路Mentor and support junior team members through on-the-job training and technical development.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
路Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoTrack.
路Experience with preliminary highway design (e.g. Stage 1 junctions, right-turn lanes, signal junctions, roundabouts).
路Understanding of Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, and related highway layout guidance.
路Experience working within a transport consultancy or similar environment.
路Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing.
路Organised and proactive, with strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
路Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
路Experience with traffic modelling software (Junctions 10, LinSig, etc.).
路Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., creating traffic flow diagrams).
路Familiarity with TRICS and TEMPro.
路Knowledge of planning policies and transport-related guidance (e.g. NPPF, DfT guidance, local transport plans).
路Keen interest in sustainable transport, placemaking, healthy streets, and transport appraisal.
Key Competencies
路Analytical thinking
路Problem solving
路Adaptability
路Teamwork and collaboration
路Commercial awareness
路Resilience and a proactive attitude
路Right to Work in the UK required.
路References and certificates may be requested during the recruitment process.
