Are you creative, organised, and passionate about the arts? We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Art Technician to join our vibrant Art & Design department, a diverse and inclusive secondary school located in Newham.

About the Role:As an Art Technician, you will support the smooth running of the art department, assisting teachers in preparing and setting up materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, and helping create a stimulating and inspiring environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organise art materials and resources for practical lessons

  • Set up and clear away equipment before and after lessons

  • Support students during practical sessions as directed by teaching staff

  • Maintain and manage stock levels and place orders when required

  • Assist in the preparation and mounting of student artwork for displays and exhibitions

  • Ensure art rooms are safe, tidy, and well-maintained

About You:

  • A strong interest in art and design, with relevant technical skills

  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in a similar role or in an educational setting (desirable but not essential)

  • A commitment to supporting young people and helping them achieve their creative potential
