We are seeking a full-time Lecturer to join a fantastic college based in Greater London. This role involves teaching across a variety of Hospitality programmes, including VRQs/NVQs in Professional Cookery from Level 1 to Level 3, and Apprenticeship Standards – Level 2 Production Chef, Level 2 Commis Chef, and Level 3 Chef De Partie.

Day-to-day of the role of a Professional Cookery Lecturer:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions across various levels of professional cookery courses.
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and success.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities to enhance course offerings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support student learning.
  • Manage classroom resources and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in culinary training environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Professional Cookery role:

  • Qualified to Level 3 in Catering/Cookery.
  • Experience in teaching and specific subject area expertise.
  • Recognised assessing qualification e.g A1 Assessors award, CAVA, TAQA, D33, D32, D31 
  • Proven background as a Chef in the Catering/Hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students aged 16-18.
  • Willingness to obtain a Level 5 teaching qualification (financial support provided by the College).
