We are seeking an exceptional Teacher of Health & Social Care and Sociology to deliver outstanding teaching and learning to young people aged 16-19. This role is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to contribute to a professional centre for excellence, offering Applied Technical Qualifications and specialised routes to university.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching sessions in Health & Social Care and Sociology to students aged 16-19.
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials that meet curriculum guidelines and the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide a stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and student engagement.
  • Implement strategies to stretch and challenge students, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Support students in developing confidence and skills for their future careers and life beyond sixth form.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Proven experience in teaching Health & Social Care and Sociology at a sixth form or similar educational level.
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment methods for the subjects taught.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with educational best practices.
