Description

Job Purpose

To support the Enforcement & Regulatory Services in the provision of business administration. This includes working closely with all teams across the service, contributing significantly to projects such as the renewal of the private sector licensing scheme, and working with the management team in the strategic development of the service.

Specific Accountabilities of the Role

  • Keep abreast of relevant changes in legislation, industry standards and best practise through research, benchmarking, information sharing and attending training and events.
  • Manage existing suppliers and contractors ensuring coordinating services.
  • Coordinate & prepare detailed reports for the portfolio holder.

Overall responsibility for all back-office functions HR, Facilities Management & ICT. Lead on the development and maintenance of their strategies and day to day performance and implementing.

  • Main project support for the Licensing Renewal Project Manager implementing the renewal of the Private Sector Housing Licensing Scheme.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to deliver on departmental projects for the residents and businesses of Barking and Dagenham.
  • Coordinate and minute meetings including portfolio meetings involving The Operational Director, Head of Regulatory Services and Service Managers.
  • Responsible for providing departmental updates to the Health Safety and Wellbeing assurance group and resilience function including collating all updates and updating the action plan and Leadership check and plan.
  • Be the champion of our support to Members including leading the Member enquiry and case work system and process ensuring timely and helpful information is provided to support member casework for Community Safety.
  • Be the point of contact for agency workers within the Service. This includes hiring new agency workers and arranging their start dates and payments.

To assist on all recruitment for the Regulatory and Enforcement Team, including creating job advertisements uploading all information on recruitment systems and monitoring all relevant documentation received, ensuring compliance with the specified recruitment requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Sound understanding of Regulatory and Enforcement and experience of undertaking investigations into concerns raised via the Corporate Complaints process:including issues associated with data protection and information governance.
