Aluminium Welder

Job Summary: This role works in close collaboration with the Engineering Team to deliver to safe, efficient vessels to our operations team

Aluminium Welder Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Experienced Aluminium Fabricator/Welder with previous proof of welder approvals to BSEN ISO 9609-2: 2004 or similar Class Society assessed welding procedures.
  • Mig/Tig welding capable with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium

Aluminium Welder Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that your teams and you comply with all Health and Safety regulations and safe working practice as required by current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and practices.
  • Carry out and maintain all welding and fabrication works as directed by the Senior Welder.
  • Liaise with the Senior Marine Engineer, Dry Dock and the Engineering Project Manager to ensure fabrication works are integrated into the overall repair plan.
  • Assist with in-water repairs where appropriate as specified by Head of Engineering or Senior Engineering Team.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of the vessel structures to ensure the most effective and efficient operation possible.
  • Carry out structural repair of all ramps, working with Fleet Operations to assist with logistics of removing and returning to service
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of floating facilities as specified by the Head of Engineering
  • Management of all welding materials, stores and equipment within area of responsibility
  • Ensuring the appropriate materials and equipment are used for each job
  • Report as required to the senior engineering team, in accordance with internal processes and procedures
  • Maintaining a safe, professional working environment including provision of advanced PPE suitable for the required works, completion of all HSE compliant paperwork and identification of all training requirements for the entire team
  • Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as requested by the HOD and any member of the senior management team
