Job Summary

We are seeking a Stores Operative to join our team on a contract basis. The role involves supporting warehouse operations, ensuring the safe handling of goods, and maintaining accurate stock records. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading/unloading vehicles, using forklift trucks and overhead cranes, distributing parts, and maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.



Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload vehicles using forklift trucks and overhead cranes.

  • Open, unpack, and assemble fabrication cases/pallets on plastic pallets.

  • Distribute parts to production and service departments as required.

  • Book in deliveries, check goods against delivery notes, and complete ERP (Visibility) system updates.

  • Carry out spot checks on high-volume deliveries and input new storage locations.

  • Maintain accurate stock records and support stock take activities.

  • Report and record any damages, including photographic evidence.

  • Raise near-miss and safety improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure good standards of hygiene and housekeeping across all stores areas.

  • Work collaboratively as part of the Stores team, carrying out general warehouse duties when required.

  • Comply with all health, safety, and data protection policies and procedures.



Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • IT literacy and ability to use ERP/WMS systems.

  • Good understanding of warehouse processes.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
