Salary: 35,000 - 50,000 per annum

Hours: 37.75 per week (Standard hours: Mon-Thurs 8:15-17:00, Fri 8:15-13:00; some flexibility available)

About the Role
A long-established electrical equipment manufacturer is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team within the load bank division. This role involves designing electrical equipment for industrial applications, applying best practices and industry standards, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on design experience, a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, and basic mechanical design knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Review design requirements and produce calculations and documentation
- Apply relevant design, regulatory, and industry standards
- Create electrical wiring diagrams and component layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
- Review and approve design work from team members
- Maintain quality systems and document changes via Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Oversee CE marking processes and perform DFMEAs
- Support R&D and product testing initiatives
- Conduct technical investigations and implement corrective actions
- Provide technical support across production, sales, service, and customer support
- Deliver projects on time and within budget
- Identify and implement new industry processes
- Perform additional duties as required
Candidate Profile
- Multiple years of electrical design experience, ideally including machinery design
- Degree-qualified in electrical engineering
- Familiarity with IEC 60204 and IEC 61439 standards
- Experience with CE marking and DFMEA processes
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or Siemens is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
