Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Fitting, with the ability to work with various materials, hand and power tools. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating components to meet precise specifications for purpose built machinery, while ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fabricate metal components using hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform drilling and tapping.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve any issues that arise during production.

Skills

  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for mechanical fitting and assembly.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
  • Familiarity with working on bespoke machinery is advantageous.
  • Ability to assemble components accurately according to specifications.
  • IPAF 3a and/or 3b Certificate
