Role Overview:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records across the group. Reporting to the Group Management Accountant, your responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting tasks, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, credit control, and payroll processing.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform credit checks and set up new debtor accounts, establishing terms and conditions for receivable and payable balances.
- Maintain and post transactions in the nominal ledger, purchase ledger, and sales ledger.
- Conduct weekly and month-end reconciliations up to the balance sheet level.
- Input workshop clock cards and site timesheets accurately.
- Address external queries related to sales and purchase ledgers.
- Manage credit control activities for the group.
- Provide ad-hoc reports as requested by management.
- Ensure adherence to monthly processing deadlines.
- Process Sage payroll on a 4-weekly cycle.?
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Working towards AAT or equivalent accountancy certification (desirable).
- Team player with the ability to support the wider finance department.
- Good business acumen and sound decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other basic Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Strong numerical skills.?
