A well established precision engineering company, specialising in CNC machining, turning, and grinding, supplier of high-quality components to a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, rail, and nuclear.
Universal Grinder Responsibilities:
- Set, operate, and run Jones & Shipman grinding machines for precision aerospace components
- Grind internal and external diameters to exact tolerances
- Interpret and work confidently from detailed engineering drawings
- Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, gauges, and comparators
- Ensure all parts meet strict quality and repeatability standards
- Maintain accurate production records and follow compliance frameworks (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and lean working practices
Universal Grinder Essentials:
- Proven experience as a Universal Grinder, working on internal and external diameters
- Essential: Hands-on experience with Jones & Shipman machines
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, comparators)
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency
- Flexible to work on days, afternoons, or nights (based on preference)
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
