About the Role:

This is a rewarding and versatile position for an enthusiastic English teacher who can adapt to diverse classroom environments and support learners at different stages of their educational journey. Whether you are teaching foundational literacy to younger pupils or exploring complex texts with older students, your role will be key to building confidence and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the needs of pupils across varying age groups and abilities.
  • Promote a love for reading, writing, and discussion in an inclusive learning environment.
  • Use effective assessment methods to monitor and support student progress.
  • Develop differentiated resources and provide targeted intervention where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery and pastoral support.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful school culture that supports every child’s development.

Job Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), be an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or possess a relevant overseas teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature, adaptable to different key stages.
  • Previous teaching experience in a UK school is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
