Cell Leader (Machining Cell)
Location: Lower Dicker, East Sussex
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Are you an experienced leader with a strong background in machining and precision engineering? We are recruiting a Cell Leader  to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently achieved.
As a Cell Leader, you will manage machining operations from raw material through to finished components, leading and motivating your team to deliver outstanding results. You’ll work closely with Purchasing, Planning, and Engineering to keep production on schedule, while driving continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the machining cell team
- Oversee machining, finishing, and production activities to meet customer demand
- Uphold standard work, cellular principles, and visual management systems
- Drive continuous improvement, 5S, and problem-solving initiatives
- Ensure accurate AX transactions and production documentation
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong knowledge of machining and machine shop management
- Previous leadership and coaching experience
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods
- Ability to lead from the front with a hands-on approach
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
