Reed Finance Norwich are seeking a Management Accountant to assist the Finance Manager in our client’s team to ensure the integrity of their financial reporting and systems, and to support the business in meeting its objectives. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee daily validation of data into accounting software.
  • Produce, review, and distribute various financial reports.
  • Process month-end accounting adjustments to ensure accurate reporting of monthly financial results.
  • Review and analyse income and costs, including budget variances.
  • Analyse, substantiate, and report on assigned Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Oversee intercompany trading and non-trading account reconciliations.
  • Assist in budget setting and periodic reforecasts.
  • Assist in the annual production of statutory accounts, including gathering information, liaising with external accountants, and posting final journals.
  • Analyse financial performance and assist in medium and long-term business planning and forecasts.
  • Support supplier reconciliation, credit control, and invoicing teams.
  • Work with all departments and management to support financial decision-making.
  • Provide absence cover for the Finance Manager on priority tasks.
  • Contribute to ensuring effective corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as directed by your line manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification – AAT (Essential); qualified ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA (Desirable).
  • Experience in a management accounting role (Essential).
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Essential).
  • Experience working in a dynamic finance environment (Essential).
  • Ability to build effective professional relationships and ensure collaborative working.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, maintaining high standards even under pressure.
  • Accountable, taking responsibility for outputs and actions.
  • Customer-focused, recognising the need to focus on both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Problem-solving and resourceful, focusing on cause not symptom, with a proactive approach to work.
