Technical Architect - Retail
Working in a dynamic environment the Technical Architect is responsible for the technical design of applications and platforms within the IT estate, adhering to enterprise standards and best practice.
The role works closely with enterprise architects, solution architects, business analysts, developers, and delivery managers to deliver IT Change that meets the needs of projects and programmes. In addition, the role sets out the technical roadmap for the various systems within their remit.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Accountable for preparing and maintaining technical architecture artefacts for In-flight retail technology, including AS-IS, TO-BE and transitional states
- Accountable to prepare or support with designing and documenting technical solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborating with enterprise architecture and peers to identify and agree the technical standards, frameworks, tooling, and patterns for technical solutions adhering to enterprise standards and best practice.
- Supporting solution architects in the creation of end-to-end architecture. Accountable for the related technical design and any amendments resulting from Technical Design Assurance
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders to identify existing or future exploitable opportunities to drive business value
- Actively contribute at all stages of the development lifecycle ensuring technical architecture standards are considered.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Practical experience of owning and defining technical solutions together with presenting them in technical forums
- Methodical, logical, and flexible in approach, you will have gained significant experience as a Technical Architect
- Good understanding of design best practices, including design principles & patterns, security and performance.
- New technology awareness, evaluation and selection; experience with running or supporting vendor RFI and RFP processes.
- Experience of working in a technology-based role and interfacing to a varied number of internal and external stakeholders
