Conveyancing Assistant – Luton – Legal 500 Firm

The Opportunity:

An established and reputable law firm in Bedfordshire is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to support its thriving Residential Property department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and experience in conveyancing to join a collaborative, supportive and forward-thinking legal team.

You will play a vital role in assisting fee earners with a wide range of tasks throughout the conveyancing process, from initial instruction through to post-completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting conveyancers with day-to-day casework on residential sales and purchases
  • Drafting and preparing documentation and correspondence
  • Conducting Land Registry searches and completing post-completion tasks
  • Managing client communications by phone, email and in person
  • Booking appointments, maintaining diaries and arranging meetings
  • Opening and closing client files, maintaining accurate records on case management systems
  • Completing AML checks and ensuring file compliance with regulations
  • Assisting with general administrative tasks and departmental support
  • Participating in firm-wide events, marketing activities and client care initiatives

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a conveyancing support or property law role (essential)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Audio typing and document production skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and case management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Friendly, professional and client-focused attitude
