Job Title: Clinical Psychologist - CAMHS (Band 8a) Location: Calnwood Court Service: Luton CAMHS - Evergreen Team Contract Type: Locum - 22.5 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3 Months (initially) Pay Rate: Band 8a - £37 umbrella equivalent Job Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) to join the Evergreen CAMHS Team in Luton. The role offers a varied caseload, supportive team environment, and opportunities for leadership, service development, and innovation in psychological practice. You will be joining a growing psychology team consisting of a Trainee and Assistant Psychologist. Key Responsibilities: Provide a highly specialist clinical service for adolescents with complex and severe mental health presentations Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised programmes of care Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions, with a focus on third-wave CBT approaches Offer expert advice and consultation to multi-disciplinary colleagues regarding psychological assessment and treatment Supervise and coordinate the work of Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Psychologists, and other staff as appropriate Contribute to the psychological skill development of wider team members through training, supervision, and consultation Engage in quality improvement, clinical audit, and service development projects Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical research, NICE guidance, and national best practices Attend clinical, teaching, operational, and professional meetings relevant to the service Collaborate with the Associate Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist to review and shape service delivery What We're Looking For: HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist Experience working with adolescents presenting with complex mental health difficulties Interest or experience in neuropsychological assessments and third-wave CBT approaches Skilled in multi-disciplinary team working and psychological consultation Strong clinical leadership and service development abilities Commitment to reflective practice, continuous professional development, and quality improvement Service Overview: The Evergreen Team is a supportive, multi-disciplinary CAMHS team dedicated to improving outcomes for young people in Luton. With access to supervision, reflective practice, and CPD opportunities, this role is ideal for a psychologist looking to contribute meaningfully to both individual care and wider service development.
