We Build Recruitment are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor based near Luton.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of groundworks packages across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of groundwork projects from inception to completion
- Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations, final accounts, and variations
- Conduct cost planning and estimation throughout project lifecycle
- Monitor project budgets, reporting on profit/loss and identifying areas for cost saving
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and manage procurement process
- Prepare and issue subcontractor orders, ensuring alignment with project scope and budget
- Ensure compliance with contractual conditions and risk management procedures
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and cost control
- Attend site visits and progress meetings as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks or civil engineering sectors
- Strong understanding of groundwork operations including earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works
- Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, project costing software, and other relevant tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
- Full UK driving licence
