Yard Operative

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Operative to join a dynamic operation specialising in agricultural machinery at our depot in Luton. The role plays a key part in ensuring machinery is presented to the highest standard for repair, demonstration, hire, resale, or export. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in valeting and detailing who takes pride in delivering a professional finish.

You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation across all stock machinery, including combines, tractors, and telehandlers. The role involves working closely with various departments and may require flexibility during peak seasons, including preparation for shows and events.

• Perform professional internal and external cleaning and valeting of new and used agricultural machinery.
• Ensure all stock machinery on display is clean and well-presented.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship at all times.
• Assist with unloading deliveries of machinery and general goods, checking for damage and verifying quantities, and signing delivery notes.
• Support general yard maintenance duties, keeping the yard and wash area clean and tidy.
• Perform any additional duties required to support the team, including preparation for shows and events.
• Work collaboratively with all departments and demonstrate flexibility to operate outside standard job responsibilities and hours when needed.

• Proven experience in valeting and detailing machinery or vehicles.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a proactive team.
• Strong initiative and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Willingness to work additional hours, including weekdays and weekends during peak seasons.

• Salary: 24,761.88 per year, paid hourly, with potential for overtime during peak season.
• Holiday Entitlement: 24 days per year plus 8 bank holidays.
• Pension: 3% employee contribution and 7% employer contribution.
