Our client based in Lymington are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with a strong background in electro-mechanical engineering to lead complex design and development projects in the Research and Development team within our client.

Duties to include:

  • Lead project planning sessions, ensuring all requirements are gathered and documented accurately. Executing and successful completion of complex, electro-mechanical engineering design project, ensuring they align with organisational objectives while managing schedule, resources and budgets.
  • Maintain stakeholder communication and reviews to ensure standards and expectations are met throughout the development process.
  • Supervise project teams, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines through effective time management.
  • Oversee cost control measures to maintain budgetary compliance while delivering high-quality results.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate with product management teams to align project objectives with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational standards and best practices in project execution.
  • Other activities such as risk management, coaching, mentoring, quality reviews and training as needed.

Candidates will be technically competent with a hands-on understanding of engineering principles and product development and will also have a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline; you must also be able to demonstrate the ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion. Key to the role will be your ability to lead and motivate teams, effectively communicate with stakeholders, and manage expectations as well as the ability to identify and resolve project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools of planning, tracking and reporting.

You will have a proven track record aligning projects outcomes with strategic business goals, the ability to manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.

It would be a distinct advantage if you have PMP (Project Management Professional) certification and either PRINCE2 or APM qualifications.

This is a full time and permanent position with an immediate start available for the right candidate. We can offer a starting salary of between £55k to £60k per annum dependent on skills and experience.
