We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a lovely children's service in Lymington. The role comes with a great salary and development opportunities and the chance to work for a provider that values and supports their staff. There are day and night roles available.

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing assistance to children with learning disabilities, including ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a willingness to engage with children in a supportive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to children and individuals, assisting with daily activities and personal care.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child or client.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
  • Assist with educational activities and encourage participation in social interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and any changes in behaviour or health.
  • Accompany the children on trips and leisure activities
  • Work with team members to enhance the quality of care provided.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
  • Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and reporting is an advantage.
  • Ability to develop and follow care plans effectively.
  • A compassionate approach towards supporting individuals in their daily lives is crucial.
