We're looking for an understanding and engaging tutor to support a Year 4 student who is currently struggling to stay focused in school. The student has a history of EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance) and finds classroom environments challenging, which can sometimes lead to disruptive behaviour. This is no fault of their own - they simply need someone patient who can help them re-engage with learning at their own pace.
Your role will be to:
- Gently refocus the student and make learning enjoyable.
- Spark an interest in education through creative, tailored sessions.
- Build confidence in core subjects while providing a calm, supportive environment.
Ideal qualities:
- Experience tutoring the primary curriculum, especially Maths and English
- Ability to adapt lessons to the student's interests to keep them engaged.
- Empathetic, patient, and skilled at working with children who have additional needs.
Details:
- Focus: Year 4 Maths & English
- Location: Lymington
- Hours: Flexible 3 - 4 hours , 2 days a week
- Pay: 25-30 per hour (depending on experience)
If you're passionate about helping young learners rediscover their love for education, we'd love to hear from you!
