SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students in small group settings or on a 1:1 basis, helping them overcome challenges and re-engage with education. You will play a vital role in promoting emotional wellbeing, supporting learning outcomes, and building positive relationships with pupils.
We Welcome Applications From Candidates With Experience In:
- Working with children or young people with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or trauma-related needs
- Healthcare or nursing environments
- Residential or social care
- Supporting personal care needs
- Using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or Makaton
- Manual handling and de-escalation strategies
Contract Details:
- Location: New Forest, Hampshire
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Start Date: September 2025 / ASAP
- Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
- Working Hours: 8:30am 4:00pm (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week)
- Pay Rate: 96.00-104.70 (depending on experience)
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or young people
- GCSEs in English and Maths
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (within the last year)
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
- Two professional, child-related references
