This setting offers a therapeutic and nurturing environment, with a highly experienced team of staff and therapists dedicated to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The school promotes a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to learning.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students in small group settings or on a 1:1 basis, helping them overcome challenges and re-engage with education. You will play a vital role in promoting emotional wellbeing, supporting learning outcomes, and building positive relationships with pupils.

We Welcome Applications From Candidates With Experience In:

  • Working with children or young people with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or trauma-related needs
  • Healthcare or nursing environments
  • Residential or social care
  • Supporting personal care needs
  • Using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or Makaton
  • Manual handling and de-escalation strategies

Contract Details:

  • Location: New Forest, Hampshire
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Start Date: September 2025 / ASAP
  • Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
  • Working Hours: 8:30am 4:00pm (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week)
  • Pay Rate: 96.00-104.70 (depending on experience)

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children or young people
  • GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (within the last year)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
  • Two professional, child-related references
