About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils in managing behaviour, developing social and emotional skills, and accessing the curriculum effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in managing behaviour and following classroom expectations.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils needing behavioural guidance.
  • Encourage positive social and emotional development.
  • Assist teachers in creating and implementing behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and behavioural improvements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet pupil needs.
  • Support pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.
  • Help develop strategies for promoting self-regulation and confidence.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Support pupils in achieving academic and personal goals.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly in behaviour support or a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ in Childcare/Teaching Assistant/Education are desirable.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
