About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils in managing behaviour, developing social and emotional skills, and accessing the curriculum effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in managing behaviour and following classroom expectations.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils needing behavioural guidance.
- Encourage positive social and emotional development.
- Assist teachers in creating and implementing behaviour management strategies.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and behavioural improvements.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to meet pupil needs.
- Support pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.
- Help develop strategies for promoting self-regulation and confidence.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
- Support pupils in achieving academic and personal goals.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, particularly in behaviour support or a similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ in Childcare/Teaching Assistant/Education are desirable.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
