An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join a well-established and busy hotel kitchen on a permanent, full-time basis. We are looking for someone with a passion for high-quality food and strong leadership skills to help drive kitchen operations and support the Head Chef.


Role Overview:

As Sous Chef, youll be a key part of the kitchen team, helping to deliver consistently high standards across breakfast, lunch, dinner in addition to C&B. Youll lead by example, support junior team members and take charge in the Head Chefs absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day management of the kitchen
  • Supervising food preparation and service
  • Maintaining food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Supporting with menu planning and development
  • Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
  • Ensuring strict compliance with hygiene and safety regulations
  • Managing stock levels and ordering as required

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum of 7 years' solid kitchen experience, with a clear progression through roles since college or formal training
  • Proven banqueting experience, ideally in operations that regularly cater for 100+ guests
  • Excellent classical cooking skills, including the ability to make sauces and stocks from scratch to a high standard
  • Strong understanding and application of menu design, HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations
  • Fully competent in managing all regulatory kitchen documentation, including safety audits and compliance checks
  • A proven track record of developing team members, including hands-on involvement in training and mentoring junior chefs
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with a can-do approach to service and kitchen operations
  • Ability to commute to work on a daily basis as accommodation cannot be provided
