Construction Contractor - New Build & Joinery

We are a Principal contractor based in the Northwest, looking to recruit a Project Planner to be based full time on a 14 million project in St Annes.

About the role of Project Planner

You will be an instrumental member of our pre-construction team and be heavily involved in the completion of this 14 million project in St Annes.

This project is made up of multiple packages, including; New Build Extension, Fitout, Refurb, Demolition, and conversion.

Following completion of this site, there would then be the opportunity to relocate to the head office in Blackpool.

Responsibilities for Project Planner

• Preparation of design, procurement and construction programmes using Microsoft Project
• Identifying and selecting the appropriate techniques and sequence of events
• Analysing the local environment to determine appropriate logistics solutions and resources
• Preparing logistics plans and phasing layouts
• Preparing detailed working programmes
• Agreeing subcontractor trade programmes
• Monitoring progress throughout the construction process; and comparing this with the projected schedule of work
• Reporting findings and recommending solutions to recover delays
• Recording relevant events for potential entitlement claims
• Liaising with and supporting the rest of the Project Team throughout the process; making adjustments to project plans as necessary
• Preparing project and activity feedback reports
• Liaising with and coordinating trade contractor's programmes on site

Requirements for Project Planner

• Essential:
  • Minimum 1-2 years previous experience Planning for UK based Construction projects - in the environment of project delivery
  • Experienced & confident using MS Project & Excel (along with other MS office applications)
  • Minimum HNC qualified
• Desirable:
  • Good understanding of high-quality finishes and M&E interfaces.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment or as an individual
  • Good understanding of construction techniques, sequencing & methodology
  • Good reporting skills and the ability to deal directly with the client's representatives

What we offer for Project Planner

• 45,000 - 50,000 p/a base salary
