This unique setting supports a small cohort of secondary-aged pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often alongside additional learning difficulties or behavioural challenges. The school provides a highly personalised and therapeutic approach to education, with a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, resilience, and re-engagement with learning. Your New Job
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Maths Teacher to join the school on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This is a long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will:
- Deliver Maths lessons to small groups of KS3 and KS4 pupils, many of whom are working below age-related expectations
- Differentiate content to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
- Use creative and practical approaches to engage students who may have had disrupted educational experiences
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to support pupils' academic and emotional development
- Contribute to a positive, trauma-informed school culture that values every learner
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (KS3 and KS4)
- A strong understanding of SEMH and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching in a specialist setting
