Academics is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive two-form entry Primary School in Macclesfield. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism on a fixed-term basis from 1st September to 19th December.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with autism, focusing on communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Implement and adapt strategies in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO
- Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively with learning
- Promote independence while offering a calm, structured, and nurturing presence
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews
Role Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with autism in a school or specialist setting
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support and behaviour management
- Strong ability to build trust and rapport with both pupils and staff
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
