Mechanical Supervisor – Cambridgeshire

Our client is a small, privately owned Mechanical Services subcontractor. They are headquartered in Essex and cover projects throughout the east of England

We are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical installation works on a prestigious residential new build project in Central Ipswich. Working as part of an M&E subcontractor team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant delivery of mechanical systems such as heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, hot and cold-water services, and drainage.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works on site.
Ensure works are completed to drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
Liaise with the main contractor, other trades, and subcontractors to coordinate work.
Monitor site progress and report to the Project Manager or Engineer.
Ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with company H&S policies.
Carry out quality inspections and snagging of mechanical systems.
Manage and support site operatives and subcontractors.
Assist with material take-offs, deliveries, and storage management.
Maintain site records including progress reports, site diaries, and timesheets.

Requirements:
Proven experience in mechanical supervision on residential or similar construction projects.
Strong knowledge of mechanical building services systems.
Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings and specifications.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements on site.
SMSTS or SSSTS certification (preferred).
CSCS card (required).
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical discipline (desirable).
Strong communication and leadership skills.
