Estimator - up to 65K depending on experience- Maidenhead
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Estimator to join theirteam working for a growing fit out sub-contractor based in Berkshire.
As an Estimator you will play a crucial role in assessing project costs and ensuring that all financial aspects of projects are accurately calculated and controlled.

They have grown year on year in turnover attracting repeat business and new clients alike with a firm client base working for many well-known main contractors inthe commercial fit-out sector.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Conduct thorough market research to determine material and labour costs, ensuring competitive pricing.
- Monitor project budgets and implement cost control measures to maintain financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, adjustments, and changes throughout the project duration.
- Building relationships and communicating effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams regarding estimates and project requirements.
- Participate in pre-construction handover meetings and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimatorin a similar role within the commercial fit out sector/ glass partitions / doors / drywall / suspended ceilings will all be considered.
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) with the ability to interpret specifications and measure drawings.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
