Role OverviewAre you an experienced and proactive Site Manager seeking your next opportunity?
We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Site Manager to ensure our school buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest standards. This crucial role involves creating a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Estates Manager, your duties will include:
- Ensuring the security of the school premises, including being on call for emergencies.
- Performing maintenance and repair tasks, such as basic plumbing, electrical work, and decorating.
- Supervising and supporting cleaning staff and assistant site personnel.
- Acting as the primary contact for contractors and managing lettings outside of school hours.
- Overseeing health and safety compliance, including fire safety and conducting site risk assessments.
- Implementing energy efficiency and recycling initiatives within the school.
- Managing the upkeep of the school grounds, ensuring they are safe and well-presented.
- Coordinating and overseeing larger maintenance projects and renovations.
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and safety checks.
- Ensuring all facilities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Candidate ProfileWe are seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in site maintenance, preferably within a school or similar environment.
- Skilled in basic plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance.
- Organised and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Confident in taking responsibility for the site in the absence of senior staff.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks such as lifting and using ladders.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g., Health & Safety, COSHH, or Legionella awareness) is desirable.
Working Hours12:00pm - 8:00pm Monday to Thursday, 12:00pm - 7:30pm Friday.
