Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Media Studies curriculum tailored to various year groups.
  • Teach Media Studies, ensuring all lessons are engaging, inclusive, and cater to a diverse student body.
  • Lead the Media Studies department, providing support and guidance to colleagues, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Organise and oversee media-related extracurricular activities and projects, enhancing students' learning experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate media education across the curriculum, promoting interdisciplinary learning.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in media education to keep the curriculum relevant and forward-thinking.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Media Studies or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Media Studies at the secondary level.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, capable of managing a department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to inspire and engage students and colleagues.
