Academics LTD are working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school committed to providing every child with the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking an enthusiastic SENCO to lead the school's SEND provision, ensuring that all pupils with additional needs receive tailored support to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school, developing effective strategies to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning approaches.
- Monitor and assess the progress of SEND pupils, ensuring timely interventions and reviewing support plans regularly.
- Provide professional guidance and training to staff on SEND best practices and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with local authorities and external specialists to ensure compliance and effective support.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive school environment that celebrates diversity and fosters positive outcomes for all learners.
Person Specification:
- Qualified teacher status with recent experience working as a SENCO or in a SEND leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- A collaborative leader who is passionate about inclusion and raising standards for all pupils.
- Experience working with external agencies and local SEND networks.
