Our client, a well-regarded secondary school in the Maidstone area, is seeking a reliable and proactive Design & Technology Technician to support their busy and creative DT department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical skills, workshop experience, and a strong commitment to supporting teaching and learning within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering or Graphics)
  • Maintaining and organising machinery, tools, and stock levels
  • Ensuring all equipment is safely set up and compliant with health & safety regulations
  • Supporting students during practical sessions as directed by teaching staff
  • Assisting with general departmental administration and classroom preparation

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Practical, hands-on skills with tools, machinery or workshop equipment
  • Experience within a school DT department or similar workshop environment is desirable
  • Knowledge of health & safety procedures (training can be provided)
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a positive, proactive attitude
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a busy team
