Microbiology Compliance Assistant Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end daily surveillance testing process, including scheduling, sample submission, and results review.
Work closely with suppliers and growers to implement customer microbiology policies and standards.
Coordinate microbiological compliance monitoring, trend results, and highlight any threshold breaches.
Investigate surveillance fails, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are documented.
Review grower-level risk assessments to support supplier management of food safety risks, including chemical and microbiological risks.
Collate microbiological compliance documents, including analyses of water, swabs, and raw materials.
Stay up-to-date with legislative, industry standards, and guidance, communicating updates to relevant teams.
Support delivery of the group lab management strategy, including data collation and reporting for surveillance governance.
Microbiology Compliance Assistant Key Requirements
Educated to degree level, ideally in food science, microbiology, biological sciences, or a related discipline.
Strong interest in microbiology and its application to fresh produce and food safety.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Detail-oriented, deadline-focused, and proactive in identifying and solving problems.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across multiple stakeholders.
