Head of Engineering Projects

Location: Maidstone | Department: Engineering | Reports to: Engineering Director

About the Role:

We're seeking a proactive and strategic Head of Engineering Projects to lead and deliver complex engineering projects with precision, efficiency, and innovation. You'll oversee the full project lifecycle and manage a team of engineers, helping us meet commercial and operational goals while promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end engineering project delivery across multiple streams
  • Lead a team of 3 direct reports, promoting collaboration and high standards
  • Ensure compliance with safety, design, and quality protocols
  • Drive innovation in project execution, adopting new tools and practices
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Work cross-functionally to align engineering efforts with business objectives
  • Provide technical support to production operations, including maintenance leadership and training

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership in engineering project management
  • Background in manufacturing or engineering environments
  • NVQ or BTEC in Engineering (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keen attention to detail and a strategic mindset
