Our client, a specialist in the water industry, is currently seeking an Approved Electrician to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will primarily involve working in the South East, including Kent, London, Essex, Sussex, and Hampshire, and will be a field-based position requiring frequent travel to customer locations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wastewater treatment systems and equipment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and service wastewater treatment equipment (e.g., pumps, blowers, valves, filtration systems).
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot system faults and diagnose operational issues at customer sites.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and clients.
  • Ensure systems are operating in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Prepare and submit detailed service reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to optimise system performance.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues in a timely manner.


Job Requirements:

  • Approved Electrician certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent technical field (Level 2 Minimum)
  • 18th Edition (Electrical Engineers)
  • AM2 and ECS Gold Card (Electrical Engineers)
  • Experience in field service, preferably in wastewater or water treatment systems
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites, sometimes on short notice
  • Valid driver's licence and clean driving record
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation and procedures
  • Ability to work on own initiative
