Robertson Bell is proud to be partnering with a leading social housing provider to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a financially robust organisation with a community driven mantra and delivering services that change lives.

The role:

Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner and working closely with the Group Director of Finance, you’ll take the lead on financial support for support services functions – including HR, Payroll, Finance, and Homeownership – with a clear remit to challenge, support and add value.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts for support service departments.

  • Own budgeting and forecasting processes: liaise with budget holders, lead meetings, provide insightful commentary and drive accountability.

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and payroll reconciliations.

  • Deliver financial analysis and decision-support to key stakeholders, particularly around value for money.

  • Support group-wide projects and process improvements, including better use of systems and data.

  • Contribute to statutory reporting and year-end consolidation across 4–5 entities using Excel and Open Accounts.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or finalist at Stage 3.

  • Have solid experience in management accounting and financial reporting (2-3 years+), ideally in a housing or commercial environment.

  • Demonstrate strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, graphing, modelling).

  • Be confident consolidating accounts and working with multi-entity structures.

  • Be a natural business partner – able to explain finance to non-finance staff, ask the right questions, and drive better decision-making.

  • Bring a solution-focused, change-ready attitude, with the confidence to challenge and improve the status quo.
