A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to join their Tool Room team. This hands-on role involves routine and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repairs to injection moulding tooling and associated equipment to ensure maximum uptime and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs on injection mould tools
  • Diagnose and resolve tooling faults efficiently to reduce downtime
  • Use a variety of conventional machining techniques, including milling, turning, grinding, and spark erosion
  • Manufacture and modify tools, jigs, and fixtures as needed for engineering support
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance and repairs
  • Uphold high standards of health and safety within the workshop environment
  • Liaise with the Tooling & Maintenance Manager and Team Leader regarding any issues or requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar tooling or toolmaking role within an injection moulding environment
  • Skilled in the use of conventional machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and spark eroders
  • Strong understanding of mould tool maintenance and fault diagnosis
  • Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Formal apprenticeship or engineering qualifications in toolmaking or mechanical engineering
