Overview
We are seeking a Assistant Site Manager to join a new project in Maidstone, Kent. The project is a new commercial build scheme which comprises of steel frame structures with varying envelope types and internal fit out to developers shell specification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and management of subcontractors (groundworks, superstructure along with 1st and 2nd fix internal works when the project reaches that stage in the programme).
  • Reporting into a site based Project Manager and visiting Contracts Manager.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Chair site inductions and review contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Issue permits to work and ensure work is being carried out to the Method Statement and specification.
  • Site inspections to ensure barrier protection and fall protection is in place.
  • Provide updates so the project programme can be updated.
  • Ordering via the buying department for any materials and plant that are required.

Experience

  • Experience of working for a main contractor is preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience as Foreman, Supervisor, Assistant Site Manager is essential.
  • Previous experience as Site Engineer would be an advantage but not essential.

  • A solid understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control measures.
