Head of Engineering Projects
Location: Maidstone | Department: Engineering | Reports to: Engineering Director
About the Role:
We're seeking a proactive and strategic Head of Engineering Projects to lead and deliver complex engineering projects with precision, efficiency, and innovation. You'll oversee the full project lifecycle and manage a team of engineers, helping us meet commercial and operational goals while promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end engineering project delivery across multiple streams
- Lead a team of 3 direct reports, promoting collaboration and high standards
- Ensure compliance with safety, design, and quality protocols
- Drive innovation in project execution, adopting new tools and practices
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Work cross-functionally to align engineering efforts with business objectives
- Provide technical support to production operations, including maintenance leadership and training
Requirements:
- Proven leadership in engineering project management
- Background in manufacturing or engineering environments
- NVQ or BTEC in Engineering (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Keen attention to detail and a strategic mindset
