About the Role
Hill McGlynn is working with a respected regional main contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across Kent and London. They are seeking a motivated M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their team at the Maidstone office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including residential, healthcare, care homes, retail, and fit-out schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all commercial aspects of M&E packages across multiple projects.
  • Preparing cost estimates, valuations, and final accounts for M&E works.
  • Procuring and managing M&E subcontractors and suppliers, including negotiations and cost control.
  • Assisting with cost planning, value engineering, and change management.
  • Monitoring project costs to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Attending site visits and collaborating with project managers, clients, and design teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and contractual requirements.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor, preferably within a main contractor environment.
  • Experience working on projects in residential, healthcare, care homes, retail, or fit-out sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, procurement, and cost management.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
